Lodge a missing creature alert with your Member of Parliament

Missing_Creature_Report__600px_SwiftParrot.jpg

Swift parrots breed in the nesting hollows in big old trees in Tasmania, then fly north in winter. In search of nectar, they cross Bass Strait in small groups. When there’s lots of eucalyptus flowers, they congregate in huge colourful flocks – but in dry years they have to travel far and wide.

Habitat destruction means the fastest parrot in the world is on a rapid path to extinction.

Will you lodge a missing creature alert with your local Member of Parliament? Tell them we need strong national environment laws to protect the places and wildlife we love – and ask them to raise this with their party leader.

Fill out the webform with your name and why you care. We'll print your name and message on a special missing creature alert and post it to your local MP. If you prefer, you can print and post it yourself.

Humans are supposed to be smart. Instead of being responsible for making plants, animals & entire ecosystems extinct, we should be PROTECTING them instead. It’s time to step up for the future of the planet.

Biodiversity is vital to the survival of us and our planet. Not only does it add great beauty but it gives rise to incredible medical and pther important discoveries.

There can be no healthy economy without a healthy and sustainable environment.

Thank you.

Currently in the bush land near Cessnock around 100 Swift Parrots are foraging to survive before making the long flight back to Tasmania. Yet this critically endangered species habitat is under threat here and in their breeding grounds in Tasmania. Why ? Because this government and your party have failed to provide adequate legislation to protect their habitat. Please push your party to strengthen and enforce the legislation protecting our amazing and unique biodiversity.

Like itis as simple as this…the web of life is as fragile as it gets. The intricacy of it all is far beyond our ability to grasp let alone create. Future…a well-used word but a concept that we fail to grasp. No biodiversity no Planetearth…simple as that!

Hi Joel,
This is part of a campaign from the Australian Conservation Council. I cannot believe the way Cape York is being destroyed. It is such a beautiful area.
Thanks so much,
