Climate damage is here now yet billionaire polluters are lining up to dig and burn more coal. Coal corporation Adani want to dig one of the world’s biggest coal mines in Queensland.

But people don't want this mine. If the mine goes ahead it would create billions of tonnes of pollution, wreck our climate and spell the end for our Great Barrier Reef.

The Australian Conservation Foundation community challenged the federal government's approval of the mine in court. But our laws can’t stop the government from approving Australia’s biggest coal mine, even as the reef dies before our eyes.

Governments have a responsibility to create a future where our reef, communities and wildlife all thrive.

Federal Environment Minister, Melissa Price has the power to stop this mine. And our future depends on it. It's critical she hears from everyone who cares that we want our beautiful reef, not more polluting coal.

Sign the petition to tell the Federal Minister for Environment, Melissa Price to:

Reject Adani’s Carmichael coal mine and create strong new laws to protect our Great Barrier Reef.

A few hundred jobs for a brief period, brief if you consider the age of Aboriginal Australian culture, do not warrant or excuse the permanent damage to land form, landscape, species, cultural heritage, the Great Barrier Reef, & ongoing perpetual costs to pay for adaptation to climate change. This is a lazy option by a Govetnment bleating innovation, but turning to last century’s solutions. Nuts.

This has to stop – there are so many better options other than coal – and this have been proven time and time again – and the Australian people want the reef – time to act and support the wishes of the people and the planet – not just a few coalmines.
