Protect the Greater Bilby – Add your voice

The elusive Greater Bilby is one of Australia’s most threatened animals. It’s also one of our most-loved, despite the fact many of us have never seen one.

But land clearing for profit threatens their survival. To survive, greater bilbies need safe habitat to call home.

By speaking up and signing the open letter to get big money out of politics, you will be sending a strong message to our elected representatives that it’s time we create a healthy, thriving democracy that’s good for people and planet.

Every signature gets us closer to a democracy that:

  • Caps political donations by corporations to curb unfair influence.
  • Reports donations as they happen so we are all informed.
  • Includes an independent body to investigate and stamp out corruption.

When big money and politics mix, nature loses out.

Sign the open letter: call on our elected representatives to get big money out of our political system, and put people and planet back in.

Open letter

To our elected representatives,

We call on you to work together to get big money out of our political system and put people back in.

This means:

  • Banning large donations to political parties and candidates.
  • Increasing the transparency of political donations, including real time reporting of donations.
  • Limiting expenditure at election times so corporations can’t use their oversized  wallets to drown out our voices.
  • Creating an independent watchdog to investigate and stamp out corruption.
  • Stronger lobbying regulation and greater transparency so we know who’s meeting with our elected representatives and why.

On my 5 acres of land, I am trying to revegetate and rehabilitate native species of fauna and flora as with the directions of the land for wildlife programme in the Logan shire council area of Queensland.
Most of our land was destroyed for redevelopment processes and human habitation programs.
But we are trying to reverse those processes to bring nature back to nature.
And now we have the greater bilby population being devastated for on sustainable agricultural development in land that is just not worthy of developing for agriculture as it is land it belongs to the natural species and the flora and fauna of that area.
Please stop this insane activity and the insane insatiable human appetite hiconsumption of everything that is not ours to control and destroy as we have done so much damage so many times and so many areas of the planet!!!

Stop this insanity stop the land acquisition and stop your futile aspects of consuming everything for human consumption that is totally unsustainable and he’s totally devastating to everything that is pure on this planet!!!!!

Our wildlife is precious and makes up part of a very fragile ecosystem which man is continually impacting. Future generations, medical science, the issues associated with climate change are all very important aspects and should be given more political importance than they are given at the moment.
