This is not a game. ANZ has a climate problem.
Due to increasing heatwaves, the Open and other matches are at risk of cancellation, our champions and fans at risk of heatstroke.
They need to hear from you that you want to see ANZ shift the billions of dollars they are responsible for out of burning and digging fossil fuels and into solutions that will protect us from droughts, floods and heatwaves.

"As concerned citizens, customers, shareholders, and employees, we call on ANZ to stop financing the digging and burning of fossil fuels. The first steps are:
- divesting from thermal coal by 2030 or earlier;
- divesting from oil & gas in line with the Paris climate agreement;
- not investing in new or expansion coal, gas & oil projects.
Burning fossil fuels is the biggest driver of climate damage. We are concerned about the climate crisis and want action."

ANZ please stop financing thermal coal. It is a large contributor to climate damage. Thermal coal is also not looking like a good investment over the next twenty years or so – it’s looking like becoming a stranded asset.

You might get all the business that the other three banks lose through their stance against investment in coal ….but how long will that policy see you through??? Eventually there will be so little demand for coal that your model will not be sustainable. In the long term, you will want to change, but having already sold your soul for short term financial advantage, you’ll have trouble attracting customers who were turned off by your short-termism. A focus on the immediate issue makes better sense.
We are currently ANZ account-holders (with both business & private accounts) but are now investigating other options.

The government will not act on climate change so industry and commerce need to show leadership. Stop investing in gas and oil and support alternative energy sources. Don’t PRETEND to care about climate change- make a real difference!

I bank with you, but will end this relationship should you not reconsider how you invest my money and shift to a bank more in line with investment policies that will support a shift away from fossil fuels. Come on ANZ feel the room.
ANZ, another bank that is after the dollar and does not care about any aspect of the environment. We need to stand together to show what really matters. We need to move away from these large banks to community banks. The only way ANZ will care enough is if it hits their back pocket.
