Climate damage is here now yet billionaire polluters are lining up to dig and burn more coal. Coal corporation Adani want to dig one of the world’s biggest coal mines in Queensland.

But people don't want this mine. If the mine goes ahead it would create billions of tonnes of pollution, wreck our climate and spell the end for our Great Barrier Reef.

The Australian Conservation Foundation community challenged the federal government's approval of the mine in court. But our laws can’t stop the government from approving Australia’s biggest coal mine, even as the reef dies before our eyes.

Governments have a responsibility to create a future where our reef, communities and wildlife all thrive.

Federal Environment Minister, Melissa Price has the power to stop this mine. And our future depends on it. It's critical she hears from everyone who cares that we want our beautiful reef, not more polluting coal.

Sign the petition to tell the Federal Minister for Environment, Melissa Price to:

Reject Adani’s Carmichael coal mine and create strong new laws to protect our Great Barrier Reef.

Dear Minister Frydenberg
The will of the Australian people, if not that of the world, is that the Great Barrier Reef be protected. You have a choice, to do the right thing and put a halt to the Carmichael coal mine. It is a simple equation: this mine will cause devastation to our precious and unique environment. This is your chance to make a difference to the fate of the Great Barrier Reef, for the future. Fossil fuels are the past, and very limited in the financial benefit they produce. Tourism is a growing and ongoing industry which can be managed sustainably indefinitely. So, just on financial considerations, it is in the best interests of Australia to preserve our pristine environment to the best of our ability.
Please make the right decision, for Australia and the world.
Yours sincerely

To allow the Carmichael Mine to proceed is beyond immature: It is derelict of responsibility and should foreshorten any term of office for those associated with this decision. That I’m writing this is beyond belief: You are elected to an office to ‘represent’ not to destroy the best interests of our world. Consistent with your immaturity, this has been lost on your myopic regard for the Great Barrier Reef. Please get another job.
