Climate damage is here now yet billionaire polluters are lining up to dig and burn more coal. Coal corporation Adani want to dig one of the world’s biggest coal mines in Queensland.

But people don't want this mine. If the mine goes ahead it would create billions of tonnes of pollution, wreck our climate and spell the end for our Great Barrier Reef.

The Australian Conservation Foundation community challenged the federal government's approval of the mine in court. But our laws can’t stop the government from approving Australia’s biggest coal mine, even as the reef dies before our eyes.

Governments have a responsibility to create a future where our reef, communities and wildlife all thrive.

Federal Environment Minister, Melissa Price has the power to stop this mine. And our future depends on it. It's critical she hears from everyone who cares that we want our beautiful reef, not more polluting coal.

Sign the petition to tell the Federal Minister for Environment, Melissa Price to:

Reject Adani’s Carmichael coal mine and create strong new laws to protect our Great Barrier Reef.

It would be great to see our politicians protect our amazing natural resources instead of just thinking about revenue. The reef is a treasure.

It’s time our leaders looked beyond short term politics and short sighted economics to the long term survival of the planet and our future generations.

I am appalled and distressed that this is still considered legal. I grew up on the barrier reef in the Whitsundays and I want my children to experience the same sense of joy and amazement.

There is only ONE Great Barrier Reef and it must be protected no matter what the cost.

Stop only thinking about this generation, and even worse, this political term! If governments don’t start actually taking a long term approach to their decision making, instead of only concerning themselves with what will win, or not lose them voters in the next election, we are going to destroy this country, may this planet, in a very short time. We are just the custodians, and you, the government, are not worthy.
