URGENT: One billion dollars in public funding could be used to prop up Adani's giant polluting coal mine!

PM Malcolm Turnbull appears to be preparing to give multinational mining company Adani $1 billion of public money to fund a coal-carting railway line from the Galilee Basin to the Great Barrier Reef coast.

Media reports say the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF) funds are earmarked for the project.

During the election, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said – on camera – that there would be no public funding for Adani's mine.

We are holding him to that promise. And we don’t want this mega-polluting coal mine.

Billionaire polluter Gautam Adani has met the Prime Minister recently.

When Mr Adani puts on the hard word, we need Malcolm Turnbull to know – we won't accept giving a billion dollars of public funding to a billionaire's company creating billions of tonnes of pollution.

Mr Adani has a mining licence, but he has no social licence.

Sign the petition calling on Malcolm Turnbull to put Adani's requests for publicly-funded subsidies in the bin.

Together, let's call for our money to be invested in clean energy, not wrecking the Great Barrier Reef.

Prime Minister Turnbull, during the election you said there would be no public funding for Adani. Adani's Reef-killing coal mine is not public infrastructure. Don’t waste public money on it.

The disasters that are occurring in Australia from Mining companies that use their facility and then sellout to companies that have no way rectifying the damage that has been done to the environment has got to stop. Adani is relatively so close to one of the worlds greatest assets and nobody in business can be trusted not to have environmental mishaps and to me this is not acceptable.
To top of this approval our Government surely can’t be serious about giving a billion dollars of our tax payer money when the Treasurer is caring poor. Please don’t treat us as idiots, I am old but my children and grandchildren will have to carry this burden and we as a community don’t have this right.

I vote NO for corporate welfare. Stop harassing Centrelink benefit recipients to raise revenue, especially if the money raised will be used to assist foreign investors with questionable financial credentials whose enterprise will raise the emission of greenhouse emissions.

Please remember, the Federal election is not that far away.

This is possibly the broadest crime ever committed in Australia, certainly for the government it is up there with stolen children.
Stop the madness now.
Adani is a corrupt, opaque, nebulous and untrustworthy company.
This mine is potentially a gaping, weeping, wound in our country, our land our children’s future.

Mr Turnbull, please ensure that Adani do not receive any kind of loan from Australia. Please stop this damaging coal mine from going ahead. It is not in the best interests of Australia, or of Queenslanders, who would be better served and are well placed, for the short and long term future, to develop a flourishing alternative non polluting energies technologies, perhaps becoming world leaders in these areas which are quite clearly the way of the future, Regards, Lyn Breen
