URGENT: One billion dollars in public funding could be used to prop up Adani's giant polluting coal mine!
PM Malcolm Turnbull appears to be preparing to give multinational mining company Adani $1 billion of public money to fund a coal-carting railway line from the Galilee Basin to the Great Barrier Reef coast.
Media reports say the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF) funds are earmarked for the project.
During the election, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said – on camera – that there would be no public funding for Adani's mine.
We are holding him to that promise. And we don’t want this mega-polluting coal mine.
Billionaire polluter Gautam Adani has met the Prime Minister recently.
When Mr Adani puts on the hard word, we need Malcolm Turnbull to know – we won't accept giving a billion dollars of public funding to a billionaire's company creating billions of tonnes of pollution.
Mr Adani has a mining licence, but he has no social licence.
Sign the petition calling on Malcolm Turnbull to put Adani's requests for publicly-funded subsidies in the bin.

Spend the money for elsewhere. There are closed and underutilised mines in Queenland already connected to an underutilised rail network. You’ve let the manufacturing sector all but disappear but you want to throw good money at a dying industry. Wake up fools.

Malcolm, there can be no justification given to allowing the worlds biggest coal mine to be developed adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef. Your government will ultimately be condemned for your lack of vision and understanding of the causes of Climate Change and ultimately the death of the Great Barrier Reef .

Sick of broken promises. Change legislation so if Once elected promises are reneged the voters have the right to sack the government.
No money to the polluting vandals.
It seems like a waste of taxi payers money to build a railway whose main purpose is to benefit a coal company when you could use the same money to improve inland rail services generally or to strengthen the interconnections in the electricity grid so we don’t need to rely so much on coal.
This is so out of touch it’s upsetting
