To the Queensland government,
From droughts to bushfires, Queenslanders are living with the impacts of climate damage here and now.
Queensland can be a leader in clean energy. We could be powering our homes, our towns and our economy with good energy and new jobs, powered by the wind and the sun.
If Queenslanders own our clean energy, we can create thousands of jobs we can be proud of and bring down power prices.
We are calling on you to make public investment in big renewable projects a priority, and act now to:
- Get on with climate action: set stronger pollution reduction targets, and rapidly replace coal-fired power with clean energy
- Build publicly-owned renewables, starting construction of at least one large project by mid-2020.
- Plan and fund a fair transition for workers in the energy sector.

I urge the Qld government to get on with this commitment. The longer action on climate change is delayed, the greater the cost to us all but particularly for future generations. The future looks bleak, without strong action
We need clean energy production and move away from technologies that create green house gases. stop using fossil fuels. It is also vitally important that sources of “green power”" generation do not create dirty electricity (high frequencies created by cheap inverters) which is biologically harmful.
If China can do it so can we.
It’s time… let’s lead the way, as a state and country
the Labor party is supposed to be a much better alternative to the LNP. the way to prove that is still true is for the current state government to pull out all the stops and accelerate a transition to clean natural energy. and that means no more coal mines!!! shut them down! if Germany can do it, why can’t we? we have far more sun than they do.
