Climate damage is here now yet billionaire polluters are lining up to dig and burn more coal. Coal corporation Adani want to dig one of the world’s biggest coal mines in Queensland.

But people don't want this mine. If the mine goes ahead it would create billions of tonnes of pollution, wreck our climate and spell the end for our Great Barrier Reef.

The Australian Conservation Foundation community challenged the federal government's approval of the mine in court. But our laws can’t stop the government from approving Australia’s biggest coal mine, even as the reef dies before our eyes.

Governments have a responsibility to create a future where our reef, communities and wildlife all thrive.

Federal Environment Minister, Melissa Price has the power to stop this mine. And our future depends on it. It's critical she hears from everyone who cares that we want our beautiful reef, not more polluting coal.

Sign the petition to tell the Federal Minister for Environment, Melissa Price to:

Reject Adani’s Carmichael coal mine and create strong new laws to protect our Great Barrier Reef.

Isn’t the world moving away from coal, I can’t believe Australia is stuck in the dark ages of coal. Prices are low so our government approves one of the biggest coal mines ever which will push prices lower and then they will no doubt fail leaving us to clean up the environment because they will declare bankruptcy as previous mining companies have done before.

Stop and do something positive for the reef for a change.

Enough mining around the great barrier reef. Temperatures have already risen to lethal levels which coral and many other organisms can’t adapt to.

It’s a selective pressure they can’t challenge so don’t introduce it. There are so many published papers with citations that already correlate the declining amount of species and biodiversity to increased greenhouse gases, just look up the facts. The GBF brings in a lot of revenue to the country aswell, you don’t want to throw that away.

We only have one chance to save the reef . It’s too late once the damage is done we can’t go back and put it back once it’s gone. It’s not worth risking our heritage .

The Great Barrier Reef MUST remain under World Heritage Protection!!! This is absolutely insane. The reef MUST be protected and the government must LISTEN to its people when we say we DO NOT want the reef destroyed from foreign investment and monetary gain. The COAL industry is OVER! Australia needs to get with the program and transition to sustainable power before more that the reef is destroyed.

Allowing this mine to go ahead is nothing more than foolish, and we look like foods l fools in the eyes of the world

I am speechless at the stupidity and lack of care for our beautiful reef and the environment.

2 years ago I was awarded an OAM for services to the environment. I would gladly donate the medal back to the government that awarded it to save the reef from pollution from mining.

This is a disaster which wouldn’t have happened if we had politicians with a minimum amount of common sense. Please reverse this nonsense.
