Across the country, hundreds of us in the ACF Community are preparing to drop in on our Members of Parliament (MP). Our message is: speak up on World Environment Day (Monday 5 June) for strong nature laws that stop the destruction of forests, wetlands and wildlife.

To get ready to visit your MP, come along to our Melbourne crafternoon and coffee catch-up.

Join us at Manja Cafe in Carlton any time from 1.30pm to 2.30pm to ask questions and write or make a gift to leave with your MP. You might write a letter about why you care about protecting nature, create a drawing of nature you love, or brainstorm local plants you could give your MP for their office. Your message or gift will be a powerful visual reminder to them that their community wants them to act for strong nature laws now.

ACF will cover tea and coffee, as well as bring some craft materials for you. You’re also welcome to bring your own craft supplies.

At the crafternoon we will:

  • Run through the three simple steps to making your visit fun and impactful
  • Have some solo time to write or make something to leave with your MP (check the how-to guide for inspiration, or ask others for their ideas while we’re together)
  • Have space to ask any questions you may have about this activity, or share great ideas with one another.
  • Enjoy some good tea and coffee together!

This will be an informal event, so you’re welcome to join for the full hour or just drop in briefly to say hi, share your idea for what you'll be leaving with your MP, or ask the ACF Community and Mobilisation Team any questions you have about this activity.

Places are limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible.
