This past summer, our communities across the continent have faced devastating climate impacts – extreme heat, firestorms and floods, fuelled by climate-wrecking coal and gas.

Yet the Albanese Government is failing to stand up to big polluters like Woodside and stop handing over billions of dollars of public money to coal, oil and gas.

Now is the time for our movement to rise up and make our demands clear! No more coal and gas, stop handouts for big polluters, and ensure strong new nature laws that actually protect our wildlife from climate destruction.

So from Monday 29 April to Friday 10 May, communities across Australia are gathering for loud and inspiring events to show our people power.

ACF Malvern will be partnering with our friends at Higgins Climate Action Network and local representatives of Move Beyond Coal, Australian Youth Climate Coalition, 350.org and GetUp! to convey a clear message to the Albanese Government: no more coal and gas

Together we’re aiming to turn out enormous crowds of people speaking up for the climate – more than we’ve seen in years! With a federal election expected next year, and climate destruction getting worse, Rise Up is our moment to show the government just how powerful our movement for climate action is.

So, join us at 11:00 am on Thursday 2nd May for our own local vigil outside Dr. Michelle Ananda-Rajah's new electoral office on the corner of Wattletree and Tooronga Roads, Malvern (tram route 5).

We'll give you a reminder before the day but meanwhile, sign-up to save the date and we hope to see you there!
