Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek is preparing the government's response to the scathing once-in-a-decade review of our failing nature laws, which will shape what changes they could introduce to Parliament next year.
Together, let’s show Minister Plibersek she has strong support from her colleagues in and beyond the Labor Party to aim high and create the laws we need so our wildlife, rivers and forests thrive.
From 14-18 November, ACF community members across the country will host local events to deliver this 500,000-signature-strong petition to their Labor MP or Senator’s office.
Sign up to host a powerful delivery event in your local area and help lift our Parliament’s ambition for nature.
Step one: Let us know you’re keen to host by signing up today! Then have a think about the best time for you to run your delivery event in the week of 14-18 November (you’ll need about 30-60 minutes) and which friends & family you could invite along. We’ll be in contact in the next 2 weeks to confirm the time and day of your event, which decision maker you’ll target, share a how-to guide and answer any questions you may have. With your permission, we can also connect you with others in your area who also express interest in hosting an event so you can join forces!
Step two: In the week of 14-18 November, run your delivery event! Bring along your friends and family – and we’ll email others in the ACF community near you about your event, so they can join and amplify the call for strong nature laws. Our how-to guide will have a handy agenda to help with your event.
Step three: After your event, it’s great to find a nice cafe or park nearby to run a debrief with everyone who came along. And we’ll be in contact to see how you went speaking up with your community for strong nature laws.
Together we can protect the nature and wildlife that still flourish in our big backyard, and work together to restore the places and ecosystems that have been damaged – let’s do this!
