Our national environment laws are supposed to protect the places and wildlife we love.

But the once-in-a-decade review of those laws has found that nature in Australia is in big trouble. Australia has one of the worst extinction records on Earth, and even our most iconic wildlife like the koala and platypus are at risk in some states.

The independent reviewer, Professor Graeme Samuel, recommends a complete overhaul of our national environment laws to protect our country’s unique places, plants, animals and ecosystems for future generations.

Australia has one of the worst extinction records on Earth. It's time for laws that actually protect nature, and an independent regulator to enforce them.

Sign the petition to demand that our national environment laws actually protect nature:

Create a new generation of national laws to protect nature and funding to restore ecosystems to bring our wildlife back from the brink.

Everything we do has an intergenerational effect and we need to make smarter and more ethical choices. I will not bring up children in this world and I feel sorry for the future people who don’t have much of a future to look forward to. We need to STOP.

I’m genuinely scared about what is going to happen in the future if we keep heading the way we are. I don’t want to bring children into this world knowing that one day they will have to live with our consequences. We are the plastic generation and I want to to do anything in my power to stop it.

Time to save our dying soil is now . Or else it’ll be too late. If we don’t want our future generations to die of starvation, we must act now and save soil.

Australia is a beautiful place
There is nowhere like it
Animals and plants deserve air as much as us . We need to leave them alone and work around them or even include them in a humane way .
Let’s not let this natural landscape be history.
