Our national environment laws are supposed to protect the places and wildlife we love.

But the once-in-a-decade review of those laws has found that nature in Australia is in big trouble. Australia has one of the worst extinction records on Earth, and even our most iconic wildlife like the koala and platypus are at risk in some states.

The independent reviewer, Professor Graeme Samuel, recommends a complete overhaul of our national environment laws to protect our country’s unique places, plants, animals and ecosystems for future generations.

Australia has one of the worst extinction records on Earth. It's time for laws that actually protect nature, and an independent regulator to enforce them.

Sign the petition to demand that our national environment laws actually protect nature:

Create a new generation of national laws to protect nature and funding to restore ecosystems to bring our wildlife back from the brink.

We aren’t the last generation, I want my children and everyone after to be able to experience the world, not the products we made from it.

I am very concerned of the negative environmental impacts of Cluster fences. The inability for animals to move through the environment to access habitats and also the fact that they create genetic “islands”. They seem to also strengthen the domaneering mindset of farmers. The “Farmer against nature battle” and the short term destruction of everything that isnt a cow or sheep or grass. The scary thing is the government is supporting these fences.
