Our national environment laws are supposed to protect the places and wildlife we love.
But the once-in-a-decade review of those laws has found that nature in Australia is in big trouble. Australia has one of the worst extinction records on Earth, and even our most iconic wildlife like the koala and platypus are at risk in some states.
The independent reviewer, Professor Graeme Samuel, recommends a complete overhaul of our national environment laws to protect our country’s unique places, plants, animals and ecosystems for future generations.

Our wildlife and the habitats the need for their ongoing survival are much more important than being bulldozed and killed for profit
All native animals need saving, this includes the wombat, koala, platypus & Tasmanian devil.
Victorian roadkill is shameful. VicRoads and DELWP fail to consider speed reduction to protect wildlife
FOOTPRINT LAWS, so user pay by consumer /producer… markets decide, great initiative. It is not population pressure, but inappropriate habits. Humans are not apex predators in nature, but nurture. Human herbivore cultures prove that. Population has grown beyond the regenerative power of nature. Healthy biosphere is essential. The human adventure has barely started, with zillions in the Milky Way
