Adani can’t move a single lump of coal unless there is a company willing to haul it hundreds of kilometres from the mine to the sea.

This Thursday Aurizon – Australia’s largest rail freight company that hauls millions of tonnes of coal each year – has its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Brisbane.

The AGM brings together the Aurizon Board, CEO, staff and shareholders to discuss the big issues. It’s the perfect opportunity for us to turn up the heat on Aurizon, demanding they don’t support Adani’s climate-wrecking mine.

At Aurizon’s AGM last year, their CEO said they don’t want to become “public enemy number one” when asked about being involved with Adani.

But now, a whole year later, Aurizon still haven’t ruled them out. They’ve had plenty of time to sort this out – let’s get noisy outside their AGM and demand they do the right thing by our planet and communities.

This is our chance to turn up the pressure on Australia’s biggest rail freight company. If Aurizon rules out hauling Adani’s coal, we’re another step closer to stopping Adani in its climate-wrecking tracks.
