Malvern ACF is organising an easy 8km walk circuit that follows the Alamein Rail Trail and Gardiners Creek. Both these features act as wildlife corridors for seasonal migrants like black and gang-gang cockatoos.

What are the chances of seeing black cockatoos?

Timed to coincide with 'Australia's Biggest Bushwalk', ACF's broader initiative, this event also provides an opportunity for participants to 'top-up' their walking goal.

Weather permitting, we will meet at Ashburton Station at 9:30am on Saturday, May 18 (See Google map above).

The route will take us down the Anniversary trail past Alamein station to Gardiners Creek. From there we will walk up Gardiners Creek to Nettleton Park via the Glen Iris/Kooyonkoot Wetlands and Glenburn Bend Park. After that, we will take the Back Creek track through Ferndale Reserve to Back Creek Reserve, and then make our way to Burwood Station and return to our starting point.

Come join us on a walk to see what the natural surrounds of Ashburton have to offer.

Please register so we have an idea of numbers, and can contact you if plans change.
