ANZ is a major sponsor of the Australian Open: a cultural highlight that promotes fitness, community, and the importance of getting outside. ANZ is also a funding new and expansionary coal, oil or gas projects, which are turbocharging the climate crisis and putting our sports at risk.
This is not a game. ANZ has a climate problem.
Due to increasing heatwaves, the Open and other matches are at risk of cancellation, our champions and fans at risk of heatstroke.
They need to hear from you that you want to see ANZ shift the billions of dollars they are responsible for out of burning and digging fossil fuels and into solutions that will protect us from droughts, floods and heatwaves.

To ANZ:
"As concerned citizens, customers, shareholders, and employees, we call on ANZ to stop financing the digging and burning of fossil fuels. The first steps are:
- divesting from thermal coal by 2030 or earlier;
- divesting from oil & gas in line with the Paris climate agreement;
- not investing in new or expansion coal, gas & oil projects.
Burning fossil fuels is the biggest driver of climate damage. We are concerned about the climate crisis and want action."

Hurry up ANZ! Time to join the other major banks and the national and international community in rejecting ongoing support for fossil fuels!
Have banked ANZ 60 years. What a disgraceful way to spend our savings in the fossil fuel area. LISTEN TO YOUR CONSCIENCE & impress your Shareholders.
Why are you the only Big Four Australian Bank that is not committing to divesting in fossil fuels?
Please get into the 21st century – leave COAL in the ground. Go for solar – the free fusion reactor in the sky.
Stop investing in digging and fossil fuels and get with the game by investing and promoting environmentally friendly projects. Please think about the next generations. I think your more astute and responsible shareholders and customers would like that.
People and institutions are increasingly looking to invest in companies committed to environmentally responsible sustainable development. Currently, ANZ does not pass muster. I’m taking my money elsewhere, and so are a lot of others.
Disgraceful action on part of ANZ. Get your act together!
ANZ, we need to put the Earth before the financial gain of supporting energy and primary industry companies that are adding large quantities of CO2 into the atmosphere which is heating our planet. The time has arrived and we have no choice but to change our norms and make choices that have an incomparable longer lasting affect than financial gain for a business today.
Come on ANZ! What are you thinking?? Now is the time to stop investing in fossil fuels and get with the times. This is an emergency. Green power is the only way if we want a planet to live on.
ANZ is the only big 4 bank that has not committed to divesting from thermal coal, and the bank is still planning to invest in oil and gas at almost double the rate of any other big bank.
Bushfires, drought – the climate crisis is here, now, and ANZ must do the right thing by all of us and shift the billions of dollars they are responsible for out of burning and digging fossil fuels like coal.
ANZ
I am a client of ANZ but also a citizen very concerned about the impact of fossil fuels burning on our climate and air quality.
I ask you to;
1 divest from thermal coal by at least 2030.
2 adhere to guidelines set by the Paris Climate agreement.
3 Not invest in any new gas and oil projects.
If these requests are not met I will need to look elsewhere for a more responsible entity for my banking needs.
Anything else is totally irresponsible for the welfare of my children and my grandchildren’s future. Etc etc.
Sincerely
It’s time for you to stop investing in fossil fue industries.
While you still invest in these industries the planet ’s climate (which is already in a very bad way with extreme weather events and bushfires) will deteriorate further making life all but impossible for human kind.
Please stop lending money to those industries!!
Invest in sustainable energy instead.
