NAIDOC week 2025
This year marks 50 years of National NAIDOC week celebrations, but First Nations Peoples have nurtured this land since time immemorial, caring for Country with resilience, respect and wisdom. This year's theme is The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.
At ACF, First Nations knowledge and guidance is integral to all our work, and we are continuously learning from the world’s oldest living culture.
This week and every week, we are proud to celebrate First Nations history, culture and achievements.
Some wins for First Nations Peoples and nature
Stopping Jabiluka Uranium Mine was an extraordinary mass movement led and won by the Mirrar Traditional Owners and supported by ACF.
We helped return 33,630 hectares of ancestral land returned to the Olkola people.
The World heritage Daintree rainforest was returned to First Nations ownership.
We proudly stood with the Barngarla Traditional Owners who won the fight against a proposed radioactive waste dump on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula.
