Instead of spending $1.5 billion of public money on the proposed toxic Middle Arm gas hub in Darwin Harbour, the federal government has an opportunity to invest in a clean, safe future for the Territory.
The Federal Government is planning to spend a whopping $1.5 billion of public taxpayer money on the proposed toxic Middle Arm gas hub in Darwin Harbour.
ACF has joined forces with Environment Centre NT to urge the Federal Government to redirect this public money into the ‘Recharging the Territory Package’ - a three-step plan to recharge the Territory and exceed 50% renewables by 2030.
Instead of supporting climate polluting gas and fracking, our government should be investing taxpayer funds in a way that benefits Territorians and the climate.
Due to the impacts of climate change, the Territory could be unlivable by 2050. Labor needs to take climate action now, and that starts by putting an end to approving and supporting new coal and gas.
Send the letter to Labor urging them to:
Not fund the toxic Middle Arm gas hub
Redirect the $1.5 billion into recharging the Territory
Stop approving new gas
Every voice speaking up now is critical. Thank you for using yours to help protect our climate.
