Strong Nature, Strong Australia

Environment Minister Murray Watt has announced he’ll table new nature laws by the end of this year. Strong nature laws mean clean air, healthy rivers, thriving wildlife, real jobs and a safe climate for our kids.

It’s up to the Albanese Government to deliver the laws that nature needs to protect our future.

Sign the open the letter and demand the government does what is sensible and right for the people, places and animals we love.

If we want a strong Australia we need strong nature laws - it's time for Labor to protect our beautiful big backyard for future generations! We urgently need your help to show that Australians want bold action now.

Close deforestation loopholes and keep trees in the ground

Deforestation loopholes are killing wildlife and fuelling climate damage.

Set strong rules to stop the wreckers

New laws must set clear rules to end deforestation and the destruction of our rivers, forests and oceans and build a renewable-powered future that works with nature, not against it.

An independent referee

A well-resourced and independent Environmental Protection Agency will make sure everyone plays by the same rules and make the best science-based decisions for nature and people.

Factor climate harm into all decisions,

so communities and wildlife are protected from mounting further reef bleaching, algae blooms, and extreme fires and floods that are being turbo charged by burning coal and gas.
