Nearly a century ago, a young bushwalker and nature lover named Paddy Pallin used his passion for the outdoors and a sewing machine in his spare room to launch an outdoor clothing business.

Today, the brand Paddy Pallin is a much-loved staple for Aussie adventurers. They’re still owned by the Pallin family who have the same love for the outdoors as Paddy did.

That love has led them to supporting Australia’s Biggest Bushwalk (ABBW)

“We have a long history of supporting environmental preservation and working with ACF,” said Paddy Pallin CEO, Tim Pallin. “As bushwalking is one of the most loved activities for us and our customers, joining ACF for ABBW was great synergy.”

Paddy Pallin has been supporting Australia’s Biggest Bushwalk for the past two years, and this year, they are a major partner, generously donating awesome prizes, supporting financially and taking part in the challenge themselves.

“We’ll have several teams involved around the country, varying in distance and difficulty. I will be a part of it too, walking in the Blue Mountains and taking shorter walks with family, and possibly even doing some local bush tracks with my dog,” Tim said.

For Tim, the positive impact of spending time in nature is immeasurable.

“Humans have always known that spending time in nature is incredibly beneficial to our health, both physically and mentally.  Unfortunately, with our busy urban lifestyles, it is easy to forget.  I have never seen someone come back from a trip into wilderness unchanged for the better. For people who have never done this before, the experience can be dramatic.”

“Preservation of our natural world is becoming an urgent necessity there is no better motivation for doing so than spending time in wild areas.”

Australia’s Biggest Bushwalk is the perfect excuse to reconnect with nature and ourselves.

“There are so many good reasons to join Australia’s Biggest Bushwalk,” Tim said, “It is good for your fitness and mental health, and it is good for your friendships. It’s important to raise awareness for environmental issues and at Paddy Pallin we are proud to say that we care.”
