ANZ, NAB and Westpac are deciding whether to lend about $750 million to Santos for its Barossa offshore gas project north of Darwin and the Tiwi Islands.
Santos's Barossa gas project is:
- one of Australia's most polluting new gas proposals
- facing strong opposition from Tiwi Islanders
- a risk to threatened species including olive ridley turtles and flatback turtles
Send the pre-written letter to ANZ, NAB and Westpac asking them not to hand Santos a $750 million loan needed for its polluting Barossa gas project.
The financial might of Australia’s big banks gives them the power to make or break projects. So, we need our banks to say no to projects that fuel climate destruction.
Banks are susceptible to social criticism, community pressure and investor unease. Our voices are needed to demand more climate accountability.
