ACF Macnamara in partnership with Westgate Biodiversity are holding our first morning planting activity for the New Year. Come along and help take care of the beautiful Westgate Park, Port Melbourne. This is a family friendly event.

Westgate Park is a nature reserve and for this reason we ask that you please leave your family dog at home for this event.

Schedule

9:00 am - 9:30 am        Meet the volunteers from Westgate Biodiversity & ACF  Macnamara for an introduction to the planting activity and safety briefing.

9:30 am – 11:30 am     Planting activity.

What to Bring

Don’t forget a hat, sunscreen, water bottle and gardening gloves (extra gloves will be available). We ask that children over 12 years and adults please bring a face mask. This would only be required to be worn if a situation arises where social distancing is not possible.
 
All other equipment is provided.
 
Getting there by bus 
The Sunday bus service #235 runs every hour. Alight at the terminus on Wharf Road, Port Melbourne. Cross the railway line and follow the sign to the BBQ area.

Getting there by car
Enter Westgate Park at the Todd Road car park (which is next to Salt Water Lake). Google Maps GPS coordinates -37.831470, 144.911610.

The BBQ area is a 75-meter walk from the car park along the Bay Trail in the general direction of the Yarra River.

Coronavirus

Under COVIDSafe Summer restrictions, there is a requirement to carry a mask at all times. While masks are no longer mandated in most circumstances, they continue to be recommended indoors or outdoors when distancing can’t be maintained.

This event is capped at 100 attendees in line with the  Victorian Government 's current coronavirus restrictions.
 
It's up to all of us to slow the spread of COVID-19. Please stay home and do not attend this event if you feel unwell or if you are showing any COVID symptoms (fever, shortness of breath, flu-like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat or fatigue). Additionally, do not attend the event if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19, or have had direct contact with an individual diagnosed with or suspected to have COVID-19 in the past 14 days. Stay up to date with public health guidelines from australia.gov.au.
