This is a popular trail through Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park in northern Sydney, New South Wales. It is 10.0-km out and back track which begins and ends from West Head Road, near the suburb of Bayview. It is considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 45 min to complete. Dogs aren't allowed on this trail.
The trail itself is a wide fire management road and is shared by both pedestrians and mountain bike riders. The trail is clearly marked and easy to follow, featuring good rocky outcrops to explore along the way.
The trail features some beautiful views over Yeomens Bay, Akuna Bay and Coal and Candle Creek. There are loads of wildflowers around at this time of year.
There is limited parking at the trail head which is in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park ($12 fee to enter the park) so car pooling is recommended. If there is no parking left at the trail head, there is more parking 300 metres up the road at the start of the Elvina trail.
Meet at the trail head at 9.15 AM for a 9.30 start.
