It's gulung (orchid season) in Melbourne and we're enjoying it outdoors on our next nature walk.

We'll start and finish at Apex Park in Altona for an easy 5km walk around some of Port Phillip Bay's most important wetlands.

The walk takes about 2 hours with plenty of stops along the way for birdwatching and history lessons of the area. The circuit is family- and wheelchair-friendly. We start at Apex Park Altona for a leisurely stroll past the Truganina Explosives Reserve then along Laverton Creek to the magnificent views from the '100 steps'.
