With much anticipation, ACF Mornington are very excited to kick-off 2021 with our first official event by walking through Arthur's Seat Park. We will be accompanied by the local, hard-working and ever-passionate Michelle De La Coeur as she hopes to show us the potential size and impacts of the proposed Hillview quarry. Michelle is a local resident to Arthur's Seat and has put a lot of energy and effort into the campaign to help 'Save Arthur's Seat'

Before we commence the walk at 9:30am we will practice using the iNaturalist app as we have an opportunity to take photos of the local flora and fauna throughout the walk in attempt to capture a sense of the local biodiversity. By taking these photos on the iNaturalist app this will help to contribute to a pool of evidence displaying the local plant and animal species that could be disturbed and displaced by the potential quarry.

Michelle has advised us that the 3 hour walk will be easy-moderate with plenty of opportunities to stop and talk. Upon arrival, drive through Michelle's gate and please park on the grass at the top - look out for a Landcare signpost.

Please bring:
  • Supportive hiking/walking shoes
  • Long pants are recommended for when we walk through sticks and long grass
  • You're welcome to bring hiking poles if you'd like
  • Hat
  • Water
  • Sunscreen
NOTE: Please download the iNaturalist app prior to the event.

We can't wait to see you there! :)
