Labor. Please create and legislate laws not only to protect our vulnerable wildlife but also the people of Australia, many of whom will die early and tragically from the effects of the extreme weather events following on from your continued support of emissions-producing industries. Please listen to the science and respond to it! There will not be a ‘next generation’ to clear up the mess we have created unless you strengthen your position on global boiling. And do you really care at all about our ‘Pacific family’ who have been begging for greater action from Australia? And as for AUKUS, what can anyone say to convince you what a bad idea this is and how pathetic that you are prepared to allow Julian Assange to be a martyr to your false belief that the US has any concern about us. Australia is being used for their efforts to retain global dominance. Let’s focus on the environment of our own country and that of our near neighbours and show the world that we can in reality be world leaders in saving at least one part of the planet.

Stop the destruction and greed now!

Thank you for the steps taken so far, but please do far more. The reduced ice at the North & South Poles, the heating of the oceans, the disturbance of life-giving ocean currents, the loss of flora & fauna from our depleted eco-systems, the looming prospect of El Nino are all scary. Please do more to sustain quality of life for our children, including a climate trigger for all resource extraction projects & greater rigour for the environment in managing the Murray Darling Basin

We need to be thinking of future generations, not our own self interest.

I have young nephews and a niece. I’d love it if there was a planet left for them after I’m gone.

I have been boating on Moreton Bay for over 30 years and have seen a massive reduction in the number of birds. The numbers of turtles and dugongs have dwindled. The coral around green island has collapsed, and the overgrowth of urban developments is spoiling the beauty. Please do everything you can to preserve these last tiny remnants of space for wildlife on this gem of a place Moreton Bay is the jewel in the crown that is Brisbane. Please help save it.

When we cheapen the preciousness of life by “making a burger of it” then by the law in physics of equal and opposite recoil, or by the lore of karma and the ethic of mystic, beware a lack of care it can trigger the return upon one’s own precious hide.

1. Stop projects that damage our environment, especially STOP FRACKING!

2. It’s time to STOP FOSSIL FUEL projects (see above)

3. Let’s move forward respecting our air and water resources, ensuring sustainability.

4. When I vote for Labor it’s in hope that a better environmental future will be forthcoming. Please ACT RESPONSIBLY to conserve what we value and prevent vested interests ruling Australia.

Thank you for SUPPORTING a cleaner, greener place for us to flourish.

I’m concerned about the climate and extinction crises. Labor, stop the bulldozing of our bush and forests, and slash emissions now so we experience fewer floods, fires and droughts fuelled by climate change.”

Homo sapiens depends for its existence on a healthy biodiversity. Approving fossil fuel projects to ensure the smooth flow of donations does not, repeat, not contribute to a healthy biodiversity.
Please, Labor, stop contributing to the stuffing Earth.

Birdwatching is a wise use of wetlands. Allowing to ‘reclaim’ more than 40 ha of wetlands of international significance, the habitat of critically endangered migratory shorebirds, for the construction of 3,600 LUXURY units with seaview and marina by a filthy rich developer who is showering the major parties with huge ‘donations’, is a dumb and highly questionable thing to do!
This proposed development comes at a high cost. But nature is priceless.

Dear Tanya Plibersek and Ministers and members of the Labor Party.
PLEASE ACT and fix up this mess of Liberal failure – we are relying on you for

1. Fixing our national environment law (the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act), to ensure climate damaging projects are stopped, and we pave the way for a greener, cleaner energy future.
2. Introducing strong fuel efficiency standards, to speed up the switch to low and zero emissions vehicles, along with a shift towards active and public transport powered by clean energy.

Stop using our money funding fossil fuel projects.
These are not the way forward, are increasing global temperatures and not sustainable or profitable.

When we see fire and flood disasters in the northern hemisphere, it’s difficult not to think back to what Australians have already been through, and start to feel a sense of dread for what’s in store for our summer.
To lament what was, and the opportunities squandered.

But, although some changes in the climate system are playing out, others can be slowed or stopped entirely, albeit with a huge, and transformative effort.

By YOU GUYS.

Please don’t waste our opportunity to get out of this mess. This is why we voted you in. You can do it. Be brave !
Thanks everyone.

I particularly want any approval from Govt for the “ go ahead “ of drilling or searching for oil in the pristine waters of the Kimberly region .

This is the nursery for whales .

It would be unfathomable to think that Homo Sapiens eventually caused the death and extinction of this beautiful creature

Ask yourselves who is more worthy to live peaceably in its own habitat ?
The whale or you ?

“My hope for my kids and grandkids is that they live in a world which [briefly describe your vision of a thriving, healthy world. What places and wildlife can people enjoy?] Labor, will you replace dirty fossils fuels like coal, gas and uranium with clean energy from the sun and the wind?”
Robert 2023-08-03 23:39:14 +1000
To all Labor Party members, I am absolutely appalled at the lack of concern for our nature and climate. I personally have seen the removal of established green space’s removed and dumped instead of relocating. These were replaced by concrete car parks with no consideration to establishing any replacement trees or the like. I would then like to draw your attention to the desecration of the koala habitat in Burleigh Heads include Sacred Land. This is all to do with an over budget light rail project. The Labor government could have instead used the money on electric buses, made here in Australia 🇦🇺 that would not require the remote of any green spaces and would be so much cheaper and better for the environment. Please stop this degradation of the environment and return the green spaces to the public.

As a parent and grandparent I wish you delegates a thoughtful and courageous conference.

Labor: Heading in the right direction, but woefully slow and inadequate. Lift your game with our only environment.
John 2023-08-03 23:02:38 +1000
Labor, it is your young family members who will suffer if you continue with approving coal and gas mining! Think.
Margaret 2023-08-03 22:50:34 +1000
Labor: be bold and forward thinking. Make really serious laws (with very serious consequences for breaches) to prevent any net contributions to climate change and to prevent the extinction of any of our native fauna and flora.
Healthy ecosystems and biodiversity are critical to our children’s future, the planets future, the global economy and to geopolitical stability.
Take bold action now, tomorrow is too late.

Please save our big backyard

Right now is the perfect time for Australia to take action to ensure we live in a world where every living species thrives.

I would dearly love for the Labor Party to aim high on nature and climate by introducing strong new national laws that genuinely protect places like the Great Barrier Reef, Ningaloo, the Beetaloo Basin, our rivers, our forests, our heritage.

Not only do we all want our planet to be clean and beautiful, we also NEED our planet to be a clean and beautiful environment and in order to achieve this, the Labor Party NEEDS to invest heavily in research and development of clean energy from the sun and wind.

Our planet is in crisis mode and we need to pay attention because Mother Nature cannot continue to repair the constant damage that humans inflict.

The Labor Party NEEDS to focus on increasing our forests, reducing toxic emissions NOW to ensure we endure fewer floods, fires and droughts.

Climate change is mainly happening due to human meddling in the natural environment.

We MUST all change our habits, reduce our carbon footprint and work hard to help Mother Nature repair the damage we have done.

It would be courteous of Minister Plibesek’s office to respond to personally written email letters about the Toondah Harbour development. Perhaps there are so many, they have been overwhelmed.
Darryl 2023-08-03 22:37:02 +1000
We have had generations of selfish, ignorant arrogant humans, politicians and developers calling the shots. The prioritizing of human privilege and convenience over the very survival of the natural world. Where are the leaders with the courage to actually legislate for real change, instead of the Muppets in the pocket of the minerals council and fossil fuel parasites. Show some spine and integrity.
Rick 2023-08-03 22:35:19 +1000
The government went to the election with the clear objective of tackling climate change. Whilst some progress has been made in encouraging the development of clean energy, this has been undermined by the government allowing and in fact encouraging the opening up of numerous coal mines and gas projects. This must stop and the government should stop receiving donations from the fossil fuel lobby.
