My family’s hopes that Labor would be serious about cutting emissions have been cruelly dashed since it won government riding on the preferences of voters who supported independents and greens. All of our efforts to save what is left of Australia’s fragile natural environment, including the Great Barrier Reef, are futile while Labor continues to feed its addiction to easy revenue from the exploitation of fossil fuels. Do you think we are blind? History will judge you harshly, if any of us survive long enough to judge given the fuel you are throwing on the fire.

Hello Labour my old friend, I’ve come to talk to you again, of a vision for our future life, on a planet you’ve pulled out of strife. The time is now, we all need to be saved! Just do it!

Climate change can be a blessing in disguise if we replace fossil fuels with renewable energies and make the world a better place. Graeme Walters

The planet is at a turning point and we must ALL act now. I voted Labor because I believed you were keen to make Australia a better place for everyone. But that won’t happen if you continue to support fossil fuel extraction and environmental destruction. Please ensure strong new national laws that actually protect the future of our country and our planet.

Save our unique Australian native animals from extinction due to catastrophic habitat loss. In the last 10 years, successive bushfires, floods, and ever-widening industrial deforestation and land clearing, has put koalas and many others on the brink. We urgently need laws that protect the critical habitat our threatened species need to survive and recover, and a fully independent environment protection agency to enforce these laws.

We’re in a climate crisis now with the planet recording record heat. Please cancel all fossil fuel projects and protect our children’s future

We want action on Climate change now before it is too late.
Wayne & Libby 2023-08-04 08:51:39 +1000
We are rapidly approaching a non reversible turning point in our climate, as measured by the level of atmospheric CO2 . We must stop developing new sources of carbon fuels NOW.
Brian 2023-08-04 08:41:37 +1000
Will our hopes that a Labor government would see an urgent, radical change in environmental priorities , be realised; the time to make effective changes is now.
Peter 2023-08-04 08:41:17 +1000
I’m seriously concerned that if we continue to put profit before people that the world my grandchildren grow up in will be deplete of nature and no living thing will thrive, including them!
Sylvia 2023-08-04 08:36:41 +1000
The future health of the world depends on the abandonment of the use of fossil fuels in energy generation. If Labor follows this policy, then we will vote for Labor.
Graeme 2023-08-04 08:28:37 +1000
WHY are the Federal and State ALP Governments dragging their feet on environmental and climate change issues and policies ⁉️
Karen 2023-08-04 08:24:30 +1000
Labor- no more new coal or gas projects – its our only hope!
Alex 2023-08-04 08:16:58 +1000
with your policy of an ever larger population, we are watching the horrific destruction of coastal vegetation. We need strong policies to protect our irreplaceable coastal ecosystems as this population influx occurs.
Carolyn 2023-08-04 08:12:56 +1000
My hope for my kids and grandkids is that they live in a world which is restored to a thriving, healthy, natural environment. Our current weak resolve to fix our mess, even as more crises loom is profoundly tone deaf and shows a lack of true leadership . Labor, will you replace dirty fossils fuels like coal, gas and uranium with clean energy from the sun and the wind?
Steven 2023-08-04 08:11:12 +1000
As a loving and concerned grandparent I’m asking the labour government to make and enforce strong laws to protect our beautiful planet.
Josephine 2023-08-04 08:04:46 +1000
After enduring 10 years of Coalition Negelect of our Flora and Fauna and promiting fossil fuel companies in the Destruction of Native Forests and Wildlife Habitats I decided to vote for the ALP who would change the slide in our Envionmental laws. I am Very Dissapointed So Far in their endeavours.

If a Labor government don’t make the hard choices who will? We’re relying on you to do the right thing by all living creatures and plants. There really is no time to lose.

Convert all state forest / wilderness areas to National Park for our children’s future. Stop the approval of wind farms in our precious remaining rainforest areas, ie Chalumbin in North Qld. Get serious about controlling invasive species. We need intelligent, well informed, sensible Government decisions annd we need to move fast on this – our children’s well-being, our environment and our planet depends on this.

Dear Labour Party

All that the Climate Scientists have predicted, has been coming true. If you truly want to help guide our country into a fit future for all. Could you please listen to what they have to say and do exactly what they recommend, to improve our countries climate woe. Then maybe our example will encourage the other global fence sitters, to also get off their ass and get active about rolling back climate change.
Please represent more the just the mega rich and tax them to fund a brighter renewable future.
Thank You
Karen Fletcher

No more catastrophic events because of fossil fuel extraction! We must unite to protect our fragile ecosystems, stop our flora and fauna from extinction!
No more talk, more positive action Labor.
Labor will be a one term government if you don`t step up now!
Beth 2023-08-04 07:43:41 +1000
Climate change is a hoax!
Australia needs to pull out of WHO and the radical WEF
Francine 2023-08-04 07:23:51 +1000
My sixty years of life has been lived through a changing climate of ever increasing global temperatures and extreme weather.
I am so sorry to our now generations that mine was asleep and dreaming only of their own backyard and their own gain at the expense of all other world creatures and ecosystems.
We must change all that now! Now! Now!
Jennifer 2023-08-04 07:07:33 +1000
Invasive pest species are destroyers and governments have the ability and the power to reduce and eliminate such species.

Fire ants, feral pigs, water buffalo, feral deer, wild horses, cane toads, rabbits, foxes, feral cats, camels, etc and etc. The list of animals is long and the list of plants longer.

But funding for action and research is cut and dwindled away. Australian plants and animals can recover and thrive when their environment is free of invasive species.

Please. Please. Please. Stop greedy, rich, foreign Frackers destroying my country and my children’s future. We must stop them even if it causes short-term financial pain. We are ready to bite the bullet and save our country.
Robin 2023-08-04 06:50:49 +1000
Labor were elected with a mandate to address climate change, but so far have been almost as bad as the last government, allowing many new new fossil fuel extraction projects – on a massive scale – to go ahead.

Sort it out.
Darius 2023-08-04 06:36:45 +1000
Well, lately I’m completely disillusioned with Labor. What would Gough say about your fossil fuel subsidies. The Greens are now the only morally-acceptable option. Bye bye.
Peter 2023-08-04 06:35:18 +1000
I don’t want my trusting grandchildren and future generations and non-voting wildlife to be “roasted, toasted, fried and grilled” (Christine Lagarde, former CEO of the IMF at Davos in 2013) because the Labor government I elected continues to bow to the demands of the fossil fuel lobby instead of using renewable energy.
How shameful that so few decision makers appear to value their children as much as they value themselves.
Harry 2023-08-04 06:31:16 +1000
I am adding my voice to the call for Labor to stop approving new fossil fuel projects and start taxing big miners the same as regular citizens.
AND STOP FRACKING!
Irene 2023-08-04 06:27:42 +1000
“I’m concerned about the climate and extinction crises because I don’twant to see animals lose their habitat any longer, I don’t want to see human beings treating nature like a garbage bin, I don’t want to swallow plastic and I don’t want to breathe foul air.. Labor, stop the bulldozing of our bush and forests, and slash emissions now so we experience fewer floods, fires and droughts fuelled by climate change.”
