As local groups we’re working on structuring ourselves in a way that helps us achieve our big goals to protect nature and climate. People are taking up roles in their groups that are focused on changing the story, fixing the system and building people power.

Through July we’ll be holding inductions for these roles. This webinar is designed for people who want to help develop their groups’ efforts around changing the story.

Why do groups need people taking on roles focused on changing the story?

These roles are about working to change the story in your community about people and nature, and involve:

  • Engaging in local and social media with key messages
  • Writing compelling content (email, flyers, social media, letters to the editor) that motivates people to take action.
  • Analysing the dominant stories that people in your community have about people and nature.
  • Developing a local story strategy under a national strategy that starts to disrupt unhelpful narratives.

SOUND LIKE YOU?

Do you like:

  • stories, and thinking about which stories will inspire action
  • good communication and understanding how people receive messages
  • words! And writing words that inspire action
  • design, and the power of good visual material to attract people
  • media, and analysing the key frames and messages that media are using.
  • social media
  • video, photography, etc

Then this is the webinar for you!

The webinar starts at 6:30pm AEST, and it goes for 90 minutes. You will receive a confirmation email with the log-in details when you RSVP with your details above.
