This is your invitation to join ACF Community Sunbury at the Global Climate Strike in Melbourne!
Join us to make sure that our community is represented in standing with the student strikers.
Where: Sunbury Railway Station to travel to Flinders St Station
When: 12pm to catch the 12.20pm train
This massive, student-led movement is building power around the world, and the students are asking all of us to stand with them on 20 September for a day of high-impact global action.
We know that people in our neighbourhood want to see climate action, so we’ll be attending the strike as a Sunbury contingent. By attending the strike together, we’ll share this critical moment while building relationships with other locals and chatting more about what can be done in our own area.
Some people love a rally, relishing the chance to exercise their democratic rights. Others find even the thought of a rally quite stressful, yet find the idea of inaction on climate so much more stressful they're considering joining the crowds. If you're in the latter camp, meet up with us and let’s go in together!
In March, over 150,000 students and supporters across Australia striked for climate action. Since then, they're only stronger and more organised – capturing hearts and minds globally, and putting huge pressure on our leaders to step up.
Now, it's time for all of us to stand with them and turn the Sunbury community out to make this strike HUGE!
Australia is in the thick of the climate crisis. Our emissions are increasing, and coal and oil barons are unleashing massive new fossil fuel projects like Adani’s coal mine.
But together, we can turn all this around. On 20 September, let's stand with the students as they strike school and gather in huge numbers to demand climate action from our leaders here and around the world.
Everyone is invited. And everyone is needed. If you’re an adult, join the students in solidarity – see you there!
