Viva Energy's plan to build a massive gas import terminal in Corio Bay poses significant safety risks to the Geelong community. Schools and residences, some less than 2 kilometres from the terminal, face LNG ships within 250 metres and the potential of catastrophic fires and explosions.

Why is the Geelong community being placed at serious risk for a fossil fuel that we are not short of, that could cause environmental damage to the marine environment, impact on fishing and contribute to climate change? Meanwhile safe, renewable fuel alternatives are continuing to be developed on a mass scale creating thousands of new, sustainable jobs.

These questions and more will be answered in a community forum presented by Geelong Renewables not Gas on Wednesday 13 October at 6pm.
