The world's scientists and governments agree. The time to stop climate damage is now.

And we have the solutions here, now — and ready to go.

On October 31, the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) will bring world leaders together to decide on the action we all take to ensure a healthy and safe future.

Let’s tell our elected representatives to get behind the solutions we all agree on, before this crucial moment.

Australia is one of the sunniest, windiest places on earth — we have huge opportunities to power our lives with clean, renewable energy this decade and export our sunshine to the world.

We can’t wait any longer. Climate damage is here. The solutions we need are available and ready to renew our communities.

Call on our elected representatives to work together and do better.

They must act now to secure and create climate-positive jobs and do our part to cut pollution this decade — to keep people and wildlife safe from dangerous, climate-fuelled bushfires, droughts and storms.

Australia has the abundant clean energy, the tools and the talent to do the job. Let’s get on with it.

To all Members and Senators in the Australian Parliament:

  • Power our communities and transport with clean energy. Replace coal and gas with renewable energy in the next decade.
  • Send our sunshine around the world with clean energy exports like green hydrogen, steel and aluminium.
  • Get coal and gas money out of politics and put people back in. Stop accepting dirty donations from coal and gas companies and ban big political donations to reduce their influence on decision-making.
  • Save our big backyard: protect and restore our forests, wetlands and mangroves for our climate and for the animals that call them home.

Thank you to all Members and Senators of our Parliament who have stepped up and acted on the climate crisis thus far!
It is time for action! We have the solutions for the climate crisis we’re in now. Act on behalf of the majority of Australians who are concerned about our climate. Regardless of whether you believe in the climate crisis, one cannot deny that the solutions benefit us all – healthy climate, thriving people and economy.
People are tired of listening to prettily dressed up words. If we want to build trust in the government, listen to the people and act now. Listen to the traditional owners who have care taken this land for generations. Listen to the parents who are concerned about their’s and their children’s lives. Listen to the farmers who are fighting to protect and enrich their land to provide us with sustainable and healthy food systems. Follow the Australian states, companies and locals who are implementing the solutions. Even large fossil fuel companies such as Shell and AGL are making the transition as they see the new clean energy future is already here.
You have the power to make Australia a leader in the greatest challenge of our time. We don’t want an Australia that blocks progress, and healthy air, water, food, and environments for their people. We want an Australia that leads by taking uncomfortable action to change, is innovative and solution focused! Change is here whether we like it or not, we want a government that stands and supports their people in this new and better world we are creating.

once our natural resources are damaged and polluted, the land, people and spirit of this beautiful Australia will also diminish.

As a scientist concerned with climate change, I am appalled by the prospect of new gas projects. Not only is it environmentally disastrous, it prevents investments in green technology that could secure Australia’s trading future.

Our wide brown land is the envy of the world, being blessed with abundant renewable resources. 70% of Australians want change but our politics has been purchased by the fossil fuel industry. It’s time the voice of the people was heard.

Our state & federal governments have demonstrated with the COVID crisis they can act quickly & decisively when it suits them. They now need to act with the same urgency to resolve the climate crisis, there is absolutely no excuse for them dragging their feet on the transition to clean energy.

Fracking is destructive
Environmentally dangerous
Public money poorly spent
There are plenty of other sources for clean energy

A gas-powered future is not the future Australians want, need or deserve. The country needs leadership to keep it relevant in the 21st Century. Good leadership invests public money in technologies that adds prosperity both today and in the future. Renewables and their supporting technologies are the future for Australia and the Morrison government needs to move on from its Victorian-era way of thinking and embrace that future

How is Australia still not the 1st country to do everything with renewables when we have so much sunlight and wind etc to utilise.
I hope the Government can understand how to get the balance right and fix our Australia.

It is irresponsible of the government to use the public’s money to facilitate gas extraction when there are abundant clean energy options available to us in Australia
