The world's scientists and governments agree. The time to stop climate damage is now.

And we have the solutions here, now — and ready to go.

On October 31, the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) will bring world leaders together to decide on the action we all take to ensure a healthy and safe future.

Let’s tell our elected representatives to get behind the solutions we all agree on, before this crucial moment.

Australia is one of the sunniest, windiest places on earth — we have huge opportunities to power our lives with clean, renewable energy this decade and export our sunshine to the world.

We can’t wait any longer. Climate damage is here. The solutions we need are available and ready to renew our communities.

Call on our elected representatives to work together and do better.

They must act now to secure and create climate-positive jobs and do our part to cut pollution this decade — to keep people and wildlife safe from dangerous, climate-fuelled bushfires, droughts and storms.

Australia has the abundant clean energy, the tools and the talent to do the job. Let’s get on with it.

To all Members and Senators in the Australian Parliament:

  • Power our communities and transport with clean energy. Replace coal and gas with renewable energy in the next decade.
  • Send our sunshine around the world with clean energy exports like green hydrogen, steel and aluminium.
  • Get coal and gas money out of politics and put people back in. Stop accepting dirty donations from coal and gas companies and ban big political donations to reduce their influence on decision-making.
  • Save our big backyard: protect and restore our forests, wetlands and mangroves for our climate and for the animals that call them home.

There’s a new way ahead that embraces the Restoration Economy. These renewable solutions will create many jobs which will allow people to be paid to make things better…not worse! So much work to do and so many needing employment…and hope! Especially young people in regional areas. Solar installers, bush regenerators…important rewarding work. Lets do it!

It’s clear Australia has so many clean energy options and the Australian people want this, look at how many already invested in their own personal solar panels, solar or heat pump hot water systems and electric cars. We want to look after our beautiful country.

To simplify a complex problem down to a simple solution, please consider that production of more CO2 from fossil fuel (and from biofuel) or diverting such products from fracking (ethane) into plastic is like driving whilst under the influence of alcohol, in spite of firm advice not to, at 100kph. Not clever, and reasonably understood as criminal, by fact of the law or in terms of wanton neglect of good sense and best judgement.

Protecting the earth is just as important as the collaborative efforts that have been shown in response to the pandemic. Households, communities, state, federal and international governments have joined with specialized businesses to overcome Covid-19. Similarly we all need to review our lifestyles, income streams and investment policies to enhance environmentally friendly actions. Urgent transitioning away from polluting coal, oil and gas to renewable energies must be prioritized by Australia’s national government in order to show our global citizenship and commitment to a better world.

The Federal government needs to look our citizens by addressing Climate change. Climate change is by far a bigger threat to all of us than COVID-19.

Action is needed NOW. No time to waste. The Government should represent the view of the community, not a small number of fossil fuel giants and climate change deniers.
