Billionaire polluter Gautam Adani, Prime Minister Turnbull and Queensland Premier Palaszczuk want to dig one of the world’s biggest coal mines.

But Australians don’t want Adani’s mine.

The Australian Conservation Foundation community is challenging the federal government approval of Adani’s giant Carmichael coal mine in the federal court.

Since this mine was approved, global warming has fuelled the worst coral bleaching on record on the Great Barrier Reef. We must cut pollution to give our reef, people and planet a chance.

Adani’s mine risks the livelihoods of 70,000 people whose work relies on a healthy reef. Governments have a responsibility to create a future where our reef, communities and wildlife all thrive.

The decision to approve this mine sits with Minister Frydenberg. He has a choice – let big polluting companies like Adani get away with it, or listen to the community and reject this mine.

Sign the petition to tell the Federal Minister for Environment and Energy, Josh Frydenberg, to:

Reject Adani’s Carmichael coal mine and create strong new laws to protect our Great Barrier Reef.

No new coal mines!
It is not any Governments responsibility to provide jobs but it is their responsibility to act immediately to invest in renewables not coal.

I do not and will not support any further mining in Australia without a mining revenue tax and without sovereign supply and without full environmental impacts fully considered. This proposed mine has none of the above features and it will affect the reef and require our money to supply a rail-line.. Qld Labor and the Commonwealth LNP should be run out of the country that they are destroying.

Hottest year on record, lowest polar ice coverage on record, back-to-back coral bleaching. This is not the future I want my kids to inherit. I want clean jobs and I want my hope back.

It is heartbreaking that our own government is not doing everything in their power to protect the Great Barrier Reef. It is a national treasure and a huge part of our national identity.
