Billionaire polluter Gautam Adani, Prime Minister Turnbull and Queensland Premier Palaszczuk want to dig one of the world’s biggest coal mines.

But Australians don’t want Adani’s mine.

The Australian Conservation Foundation community is challenging the federal government approval of Adani’s giant Carmichael coal mine in the federal court.

Since this mine was approved, global warming has fuelled the worst coral bleaching on record on the Great Barrier Reef. We must cut pollution to give our reef, people and planet a chance.

Adani’s mine risks the livelihoods of 70,000 people whose work relies on a healthy reef. Governments have a responsibility to create a future where our reef, communities and wildlife all thrive.

The decision to approve this mine sits with Minister Frydenberg. He has a choice – let big polluting companies like Adani get away with it, or listen to the community and reject this mine.

Sign the petition to tell the Federal Minister for Environment and Energy, Josh Frydenberg, to:

Reject Adani’s Carmichael coal mine and create strong new laws to protect our Great Barrier Reef.

Any coal mine contributes to an increase in CO2, and global warming. This is an insult to future generations.

our environment will not sustain this process intact.. without the reef alone, Queensland’s tourism future is bleak

Coal mining damages the land, the energy derived from it damages the air & using waterways to transport it risks damaging the reef. Adani has a history of making promises about providing jobs & other benefits that are broken. Don’t do business with this group & don’t build the Carmichael mine.

We should be moving away from coal and embracing earth friendly options. We only have one chance to save our planet. Let’s not fuck it up!

Please protect Australia from foreign companies ruining our natural environment. Their money lasts a few years and the damage they cause lasts a LOT longer. We need to find cleaner energies!!

I cannot believe how stupid our politicians and government bodies are, in allowing Adani anywhere near our Great Barrier Reef. Not just important for Australia but for the world. It is essential for the well being of both the marine biology and our biology.
If we want to be so gross as to just talk about the dollar income Australia receives from tourism to our reef (and tourist income from the reef is worth billions long term – not short term like coal mining), one only as to do some very basic mathematics to see that the long term income from tourism far out ways the income from the toxic Adani coal mining operation which will damage our beautiful reef.
Adani have an abysmal environmental record (visit India to see what a crap heap the environment is in within India). What government morons in Canberra and Queensland are allowing Adani anywhere near our reef . These politicians need sacking now, and we need to target them at the elections. The situation is dire and we need to deal with it prior to the elections.
Calling upon all Australian citizens, stand up now and stop Adani from operating within Australia and particularly working near our beautiful Barrier reef in Australia. This is an extremely urgent matter. We cannot allow anymore environmental mistakes to occur within Australia. Australian citizens stand up immediately and stop the government and Adani from killing our reef. Elizabeth Langford, AM
