Billionaire polluter Gautam Adani, Prime Minister Turnbull and Queensland Premier Palaszczuk want to dig one of the world’s biggest coal mines.

But Australians don’t want Adani’s mine.

The Australian Conservation Foundation community is challenging the federal government approval of Adani’s giant Carmichael coal mine in the federal court.

Since this mine was approved, global warming has fuelled the worst coral bleaching on record on the Great Barrier Reef. We must cut pollution to give our reef, people and planet a chance.

Adani’s mine risks the livelihoods of 70,000 people whose work relies on a healthy reef. Governments have a responsibility to create a future where our reef, communities and wildlife all thrive.

The decision to approve this mine sits with Minister Frydenberg. He has a choice – let big polluting companies like Adani get away with it, or listen to the community and reject this mine.

Sign the petition to tell the Federal Minister for Environment and Energy, Josh Frydenberg, to:

Reject Adani’s Carmichael coal mine and create strong new laws to protect our Great Barrier Reef.

Time for wisdom and not short-term thinking – remember the benefits of retaining the Franklin River and multiply by xxx! This time the international community are also watching as global share-holders invested in the protection of one of our and the world’s most precious and priceless assets – the Great Barrier Reef. Time to protect our ecological credentials and integrity and show the world these are not for sale. I do not want my taxpayer dollars to subsidise this mining proposal – it is ecological stupidity of the highest order for short-term (and ultimately costly) political and economic gain.

Stop destroying our most beautiful Great Barrier Reef!!!People from around the world come and visit our Reef enjoying its beauty and the lovely aquatic livestock. Australia is a beautiful country but the greedy politicians are ruining in. Malcolm Turnbull and Premier Palaszczuk are a disgrace to our country. Shame on you all because you care for money, not livestock and the damage you’re doing all for the sake of $$$$$. DISGRACEFUL!!!

if this coal mine takes off not only will you kill the great barrier of reef but you will also be kill us, this mine will be releasing up to 128 ton of carbon dioxide each year and you will also be killing the land we live on and call home. this mine needs to stop and we need to think of better ways to create money. the great barrier of reef is a great attraction for people to come over from not only other states but all over the world, that could be your way to make money. wont be as fast but it will happen.

Do the right thing for thousands of years to come and save your reef. Coal is in the past and those funds won’t last long. Tourists want to see that amazing reef and its wildlife, not mining! Please for the planet’s diversity save that reeef!

Why would you risk one of our greatest national beauties for a dying industry. Absurd decisions made by our Government who should be looking after our country first, not India.
