Stories are important. They ignite our imagination and help us understand not only ourselves, but the world we live in. They influence how we choose to act, our decisions and what we believe.
We at VU-Inner WeST believe that each one of us has a compelling "story of self" to tell. Telling our story can help lay the foundations for leadership, collaboration and discovering common purpose, especially in a new community group like ours.
In our very 1st VU-Inner WeST training session, we build relationships and get skilled up as a cohort of emerging social change advocates as we all learn about:
Personal Narrative
- Learn to tell a compelling story about yourself, the community you organise with and your strategy that motivates others to join you in creating change
Recruitment Skills
- Relational meetings, or one-on-one conversations
- student/ volunteer leadership identification and development
There will be time to know more about our group and plan our next activities together for the 1st quarter of 2019.
