The situation is now urgent. Queensland needs to make a clear choice for contributing towards a cleaner future for the planet.

I want Queensland to become a leader and champion of renewables and to turn around from its years of being ruled by fossil fuel giants greed.

Because I love our natural world and seek to create a clean future.

A new government has given me hope. We have so much potential to lead the world in innovative sustainability. But we need a government committed to long term focus, not the next election. We’re ready to make sacrifices for our future.

I want to see Queensland become a climate and nature champion because if we don’t do the right thing in these areas our children’s futures will be blighted.

I want Queensland to be a climate and nature champion because we live in one of the best spaces on this planet and we just take it for granted. Look at our once glorious Barrier Reef its nothing like it was when I was a teenager we should be ashamed of what we are leaving to our next generations . Why can’t we be more diligent with whom we employ/ engage with an overseer of all funds used be more regulated and require frequent financial updates of what money is being spent on. It seems to me that the government is lobbied to support causes buckets of money are handed
with no external unbiased oversite. Next thing all their mates and family members get employed with no understanding and the money gets wasted. Why can’t we stop thinking oh that’s a good idea that will win us votes. Next thing like the French submarines project get wiped and oh, oh well there goes that 500 million but we can’t spend money where it needs to be. Mr Albanese I understand it’s hard and there are conflicting issues but why don’t we have a Member for Due Diligence that understands how to preview projects or requests for money. Renewable energy is Queensland’s absolute solution into the future.
PS. How about scrutinising the " Approved Providers of aged care as critically you scrutinise and regulate aged care facilities there is no time for care because the good providers are flat out doing the paper work to prove they are Doing the care. These regulations are a consequence of poor shonky providers. If we had half of the paper work nurses would be able to provide the care our elders deserve.
I know miracles of this proportion dont happen over night but ask the RNs in
Aged Care what they believe is needed and I bet they will not say more staff but LESS PAPER WORK/ Data collection
Put nurses back to what they do best caring. Not paper pushers. No truly send some one in to do a couple of rotating shifts and see what comes out Please

We the people put the well being of our earth & her peoples, animals & plants before the old power & greed mongering of those with self serving economic agendas.

Things need to change for th better of the planet.

I had hoped federal Labor would make positive climate change without having to be pushed and forced by the greens and independents, and look how that turned out. But maybe the state government could show them how it’s done by no longer planning climate problematic construction goals.

I want the Queensland Government to:

1. Slash Queensland’s climate pollution by at least half this decade
2. Make Queensland a renewable energy superpower and create 100,000 jobs in climate solutions
3. Protect Queensland’s nature to store carbon and establishing an Environmental Protection Authority for Queensland to oversee and investigate environmental decisions

As a marine scientist, I have consistently advocated for a rational, inter-generational focused, response to climate and ocean disruption – our life-supporting biosphere, and our own society, depends on it. Governments have wasted decades in thrall to vested interests. Time is short.

Qld can be a renewable energy leader – let’s do it!

Climate scientists have been warning about the catastrophic impacts of global warming/climate change for decades. They were called doomsday propagandists and their warnings labelled as hyperbole and worse. We are now witnessing the truth of the scientists’ words in cascading, devastating ‘natural’ disasters across the planet, driven by humankind’s addiction to fossil fuels and the abject failure of governments to pivot to renewable energy. We’ve squandered decades and now, time is no longer on our side.
