Queenslanders, our sunshine state has the tools and talent to become a renewable energy superpower – and shift away from digging and burning fossil fuels that drive climate impacts.
Ramping up climate solutions now will create long-term jobs in our regions, help restore our incredible forests and slash climate pollution this decade.
But we need to act now and not let the opportunity slip through our fingers.
Sign the petition. We need thousands of us calling on our state government to invest in making Queensland a climate and nature champion.
Working together, Queensland CAN!

-
Make our climate safe: Slash Queensland's climate pollution by at least half this decade; slash methane emissions from existing coal and gas infrastructure; ban new coal and gas infrastructure
-
Protect our nature: Establish an Environmental Protection Authority for Queensland; protect 100 hectares of Queensland forest this decade

We need action now to stop climate change and avoid all the catastrophic events we’ ve been suffering.
I want this because QLD has lost so much natural resource already – but has so much more to lose too.
I want a good future for my children and for the native wildlife we are so lucky to have in this country.
It is too late for us to do nothing so let’s take the initiative and lead Australia down the climate action path.
There is an urgent need to respect the need to act now ! Respect the habitats of our native animals.Stop chopping down trees ! Plant more trees.Better public services…and much more!
I want Queensland to be a climate and nature champion because this is the only way. I have been impacted by the recent floods and I can see how terrible the state has been to prepare, help and prevent these types of events. We must stop fossil fuel mining. We must prepare for the future with renewables and protect our environment.
Now! Before it’s too late!
I want Queensland to respond with real courage to the climate change and biodiversity catastrophe we are facing along with the rest of the global community.
This makes sense, is future-proofing and can create an amazing State – we need this good news and good example. More nature protection, more renewable energy, a circular economy for finance, waste, for all the generations to come
Everything points to the need for change. No environment = no economy.
It’s about time for the change
I want to see the Queensland government to slash climate pollution and increase renewable energy output.
I want Qld to be a nature and climate champion because all of Australia should be protected for our wildlife and our children.
What is the point of living in a desperately dirty, destructive environment with threats of floods and fires wiping us out.
We know we have to do our very best to reverse the damage as soon as possible, don’t we?
Queensland has the capacity to show the world our credentials for green energy and protected national and marine parks. It will be a leader in the economics of Eco-tourism.
I want Queensland to be a climate and nature champion because it is the right action to take for all living beings now and for generations to come
We need to reduce claimte pollution urgently ino order to have a liveable future.
