Many of us are hurting from last Saturday's election result.

Climate action was a defining issue in the election – together, we achieved our first goal. More people and politicians are talking about the climate crisis than ever before.

But that did not translate into a government with strong climate and environment policies, which was our second goal.

On Monday 20 May, I joined our Campaigns Director Paul Sinclair and the ACF community for an hour long webinar to connect and reflect on the election results and our our huge climate election campaign.

We were heartened to be joined by ACF supporters from every corner of the country, both in rural areas and in our cities.

This is a setback for climate action in Australia, but we’ve had setbacks before. We are down but we are not out. We can’t be. Too much is at stake and we are the people in Australia leading at a time when our climate and nature need us.

But this week, take some time to connect, reflect and recharge.

Then let’s get to work.

Onwards.
