Please come along to the rally Melbourne Ports Stop Adani will be holding outside The Hon Michael Danby’s Office 197 Fitzroy st, St Kilda at 11 AM this Friday , 13 October.
Our elected Member of Parliament needs to know that many voters in his electorate oppose the Queensland Adani mine and want him to make a public statement against the mine.
Our Member of Parliament also needs to know that we find his failure to meet with us and silence on the issue a failure of his responsibilities as our representative in the Australian Parliament.
We have written to Mr Danby 4 times in the past 7 months requesting that he meet with us to discuss our concerns about the proposed Adani mine in the Galilee Basin. Further we have requested that he make a public statement expressing his opposition to the mine as have other Labor MHRs in Victoria.
A delegation from our last rally on August 4 was assured by his electoral officer that a public statement from Mr Danby would be forthcoming ‘in a few weeks’. However, no statement has been made.
So please come along to our rally to remind our MHR, Michael Danby, of his responsibilities to his electorate, to ask him to meet us and to insist that he takes a stand on this crucial issue of our time.
The more of us, the more powerful the message.
