In the interests of everyone’s health and safety, the ACF have decided to postpone all non essential face to face meetings.

Therefore our ‘Pens with purpose; letter writing workshop’ will be postponed from Wednesday 25th April, to a date yet confirmed.

Time alone is often used to reflect and many of us might be a littler over or under whelmed by 2020 thus far. However channeling your emotion into action is the most empowering choice you can make. So even though we can’t jot down our letters together, beer in hand, give it a go at home. You may be pleasantly surprised how easy it is.

Here are some tips to get you started:

  • Unlike friendships, letter writing is all about quantity over quality. It doesn’t matter as much what you say, but just that you say it.
  • Decision makers are people too, share with them something personal, how the current climate is affecting you or someone you care about.
  • Ask whoever you’re writting to to commit to something. For example; asking an MP to support the climate act now bill on March 23rd. Requesting your body corporate start supplying green waste bins. Ask your local cafe to swap out damaging single use take away containers for more environmentally friendly alternatives.

If you’re looking for more guidance, climate for change have some great resources you can access here:

Keep looking after yourselves and those around you and we will drop into your inbox sometime soon with a new workshop date.
