The backyard lemon tree will rise again!

Supplying food to our populations has a huge bearing on carbon emissions and the conversation around how we farm and receive that food has grown quickly in recent times. The supermarket shop for fresh produce is starting to become more questionable in people's minds and for good reason.

PACA member Elizabeth Collins will provide a heartening update on what's happening in this space both in the South Gippsland area and around Australia - including her own Project GreenPlot initiative that invites domestic gardeners to collectively grow food for the community in a one square metre space.

She'll outline how communities and organisations are establishing new networks and developing new food systems. Food collectives, councils finding ways to utilise 'lazy space' for food production and a recent national survey are all strengthening the shift to a more localised and sustainable food future.

ACF Community Prom Area Climate Action is part of a network of independently organised, volunteer-run groups in the ACF community. ACF will pass on your contact details to the host for the purpose of running the event.
