1:00 to 1:30pm - Opening

Federal member Steve Georganas outlines the environmental and energy challenges for Australia

 

1:30 to 2:45pm - Bringing back nature- introduced by  Aunty Elaine Magias, Warringga Group

Australia has a poor history of conserving nature, having lost more native species than almost any country in the world.

How can we reverse this trend in Adelaide? 

Three presentations, followed by a 30-minute public forum.

Half hour intermission allowing engagement with stall holders, displays and hands-on workshops. 

Households are struggling with rising energy costs in this cost of living crisis. What are the solutions and how can local communities gain energy independence and gain affordable energy bills?

 

3:15pm to 4:15 pm - Energy Independence and lower bills through a cooperative model 

Two presentations then a 30-minute public forum. 

  • Jasper Lee, Electrify Adelaide- building energy resilience in your community by electrifying everything
  • Dr Heather Holmes Ross, Mayor of Mitcham- our community based electrification journey.

The forum will also feature displays by the supporting organisations:

  • Electrify Adelaide: how an all-electric home will be cheaper, cleaner and healthier for you and your family

  • Display by ESRAG the environmental arm of Rotary International
  • Walkerville Bush Cares active planting sites.
  • Green Adelaide and bringing back the platypus.
