As bushfires rage across the country, the Queensland government is considering a secret deal with Adani that could mean the coal corporation pockets hundreds of millions of dollars of public money for its climate-wrecking mine.
Analysis by The Australia Institute shows Adani’s special coal royalty deal could be worth between $250 and $700 million dollars. The Palaszczuk Government has refused to reveal the terms of this shady arrangement, claiming it’s too confidential for us to know about.
Our elected representatives have a responsibility to create a future where our communities, reef and wildlife thrive, not prop up dirty coal.
Add your name to this open letter to send the Premier a clear message — no dirty royalty deal for Adani:
During the last Queensland election you promised there would be no public money for Adani’s climate-wrecking coal mine.
If Adani’s mine goes ahead it would unleash billions of tonnes of pollution, at a time when we must rapidly phase out coal and take urgent action on the climate crisis.
We ask you to keep your election promise and not cut a special royalty deal with Adani.”

Stop this Adani nonsense!
Let’s catch up to the rest of the world
Stop coal mining and invest in green energy, NOW!
Please don’t sell our beautiful Australia out to these money hungry climate wreaking fools who will just end up destroying us all.
Please, please please do not cut a deal with Adani.
Please be part of finding a better way.
With the bushfires now causing so many problems in our wonderful country, why the blazes are we considering opening up another and larger coal mine. I look outside my window which once had a wonderful view of a mountain range, and now all I can see is a smoke haze cutting visibility down to approximately a couple of hundred metres.
I remember our ‘esteemed?’ leaders in federal parliament tossing around a lump of coal and saying ‘there is nothing to be afraid of’. Well, if you look out of your window, or watch the TV news showing the devastation of our country, peoples homes, and our unique wildlife, I just trust that you are rapidly learning that there is indeed something to be very afraid of in the use of coal.
Please do not allow another mine to operate producing more coal, but instead, put your energies into promoting non coal burning production of power generation such as solar and/or wind.
Our future generations are looking to you to help keep our planet safe. Don’t fuck it up. Don’t join Adani.
Don’t destroy our lifes! Think of the future of our children!!!
Stopp Destroying our World
What the actual fuck. How are we still letting this happen in this day
