As bushfires rage across the country, the Queensland government is considering a secret deal with Adani that could mean the coal corporation pockets hundreds of millions of dollars of public money for its climate-wrecking mine.

Analysis by The Australia Institute shows Adani’s special coal royalty deal could be worth between $250 and $700 million dollars. The Palaszczuk Government has refused to reveal the terms of this shady arrangement, claiming it’s too confidential for us to know about.

Our elected representatives have a responsibility to create a future where our communities, reef and wildlife thrive, not prop up dirty coal.
Add your name to this open letter to send the Premier a clear message — no dirty royalty deal for Adani:

“Dear Premier,

During the last Queensland election you promised there would be no public money for Adani’s climate-wrecking coal mine.

If Adani’s mine goes ahead it would unleash billions of tonnes of pollution, at a time when we must rapidly phase out coal and take urgent action on the climate crisis.

We ask you to keep your election promise and not cut a special royalty deal with Adani.”

THIS IS NOT SUSTAINABLE LIVING, THIS WILL RUN OUT, THIS WILL DESTROY OUR ECOSYSTEMS!! If you really care about the health of Queensland and it’s future, please don’t do this. Please look to renewable resources, there is a giant ball of free energy that is given by nature. This is the sun. Please consider your decisions and consider the HEALTH of our country and the world, instead of WEALTH.

POLLUTION, of sea, air and land, is another word for Adani Mine. IF this mine is allowed to go ahead, you and your government will become famous for deception, and destruction of Nature’s handywork – par excellence.
Please try to come to an honest and propitious decision - and keep your word not be a noted liar, also try to be a forward looker instead and instead of being bribed -—-be a wayshower and investigate wider use of renewable energies, including HYDROGEN power!! and be a TRUE and truthful leader.

We need programs now that will restore the health of our natural reefs and ecosystems rather than destroy them. This is critical now more than ever. Please do not support the building of a new coal mine, not just for humanity’s sake, but for the world’s. Coal burning is the largest source of carbon emissions and a direct cause of global warming, which is killing and damaging the planet at an exponential rate. We need our forests, oceans and ecosystems to be healthy so that we can thrive. We are all connected, and we as humans cannot live in a healthy, successful society if our planet is not healthy. We CANNOT LIVE without those resources necessary for our survival that nature gives us: food from plants and animals, oxygen from trees, water from clean reservoirs, and shelters built from stone, brick, and wood. It all comes from nature. If it thrives, we all thrive. Is the cost of money and capital gain really worth destroying that which is necessary for our survival?

Please think for the future of humanity and the planet, building a coal mine in 2020 is madness.

The Queensland & Australian Governments CANNOT allow a repeat of the environmental disasters that Adani has wrought upon other countries with its outdated third world mining practices in this 21st century & its third world mentality towards environmental issues.

The catastrophic bushfires followed by damaging floodwaters clearly demonstrate the Australia must ACT NOW on climate change. This means that our reliance on fossil fuel energy MUST STOP NOW & focus must be on changing to green energy alternatives.

Change is not for the faint hearted: it takes courage to change the status quo that has existed for generations BUT Australia must act NOW in order to HAVE A FUTURE at all.

A major source of rising temperatures IS FOSSIL FUEL energy. Therefore ALL coal mining is contributing to our devastating climate change. Our climate CANNOT ‘fix’ itself: we caused the problem & we MUST fix it in order to have a future at all.

Act now & stop coal mining in Australia. Fossil fuel energy will continue to adversely affect our environment through devastating climate change. The bushfires this summer are evidence that we need to ACT NOW.
