To our elected representatives,
We call on you to work together to get big money out of our political system and put people back in.
This means:
- Banning large donations to political parties and candidates.
- Increasing the transparency of political donations, including real time reporting of donations.
- Limiting expenditure at election times so corporations can’t use their oversized wallets to drown out our voices.
- Creating an independent watchdog to investigate and stamp out corruption.
- Stronger lobbying regulation and greater transparency so we know who’s meeting with our elected representatives and why.

Can we really call ourselves a democracy if our government cannot be held accountable to anyone?
Big pharma, big mining etc etc should not be underhandedly influencing our future. Everybody should have equal say especially as we are in a climate crisis. We deserve full transparency in our governance processes and a true democracy now!
I want my grandchildren to experience the wonderful natural environment I grew up with. Time to act is running out

Democracy should mean an equality in the election methodology so candidates and their policies are evenly presented to the voters. No spin, straightforward information funded to an equal amount funded from government funds.

We are losing our democracy through state capture by corporate lobbyists & corruption. We need to take urgent action so that our representatives truly represent the best interests of the people
The current system ensures our politicians are making decisions that are not independent of individual business and industry outcomes. Our politicians should be making decisions for the good of the PEOPLE not BUSINESSES.
If we don’t value democracy those with the most money and power will influence most of the decisions. The value of our democracy is already corrupted by lobbyists .. electoral campaigns should be sponsored by the people, not corporations.
