Open letter
To our elected representatives,
We call on you to work together to get big money out of our political system and put people back in.
This means:
- Banning large donations to political parties and candidates.
- Increasing the transparency of political donations, including real time reporting of donations.
- Limiting expenditure at election times so corporations can’t use their oversized wallets to drown out our voices.
- Creating an independent watchdog to investigate and stamp out corruption.
- Stronger lobbying regulation and greater transparency so we know who’s meeting with our elected representatives and why.

Any form of political party donations and all political advertising including by the incumbent government should be made illegal.
How is it not called bribery since it reflects vested interests, at the least call it a conflict of interest. Change the laws, so politicians can’t feather their nests in the whore beds of those who scratch their backs in triumpant ecstasy.
Do the right thing by the Australian people. You are in a PRIVILEGED position, respect it!
Australian politics is a contemptible disgrace and a betrayal of the country and its people.
If we have tried to ‘do’-democracy for the past several decades, it would appear a new system entirely may provide a more inclusive and beneficial lifestyle for our country!
Collusion and corruption are at the base of all of the awful and damaging decisions that are being made. This is the opposite of what our elected representatives are elected to do. Self-interest is the opposite of what they are elected to do. Imagine what the money currently used to warp our system could be used for….
A democracy which can be (and is) bought and sold is not a democracy
Political donations should only be allowed from individuals on the Australian electoral roll, and should be restricted to $1000 per annum and NOT tax deductable… and should be immediately available to an independent watchdog to monitor for any conflict of interest.
