To our elected representatives,
We call on you to work together to get big money out of our political system and put people back in.
This means:
- Banning large donations to political parties and candidates.
- Increasing the transparency of political donations, including real time reporting of donations.
- Limiting expenditure at election times so corporations can’t use their oversized wallets to drown out our voices.
- Creating an independent watchdog to investigate and stamp out corruption.
- Stronger lobbying regulation and greater transparency so we know who’s meeting with our elected representatives and why.
Latest Supporters
No one should have undue influence on our government. A democracy is “of the people, for the people, by the people”. It can’t be bought or sold. Recent and past events put our “democracy” into question.
I would like to see a Royal Commission into governments handling of water resources and the leasing and sales it has initiated in this area.
Elections should be publicly funded then we have a level playing field.
It’s not a democracy when you can buy influence
For the sake of life on Planet Earth phase out quickly coal and gas
Democracy is for the Common Good. When money buys it, money kills it.
It’s time to listen to the planet, it does not need humans, but humans need it! It’s time to change archaic Government ‘rape & pillage’ models to an intelligent and forward thinking model of operation that will work within a global framework.
