Open letter to our elected representatives
'To all Members and Senators of the Australian Parliament,
The bushfire crisis continues to devastate communities and wildlife on an unprecedented and alarming scale. Intensifying drought and heat are making bushfires larger, more destructive and frequent. This is climate change and the root cause – burning polluting fuels like coal – is making it worse. We urge you to use this moment of crisis as a turning point. Let’s move forward together, as a nation, and not look backwards at a decade of division and missed opportunity. We call on you to stand with our communities, wildlife and places we love and:
- Rapidly replace coal with clean energy, stop any new coal mines and fund a transition plan for affected workers and communities.
- Massively increase funding for long-term wildlife and ecosystem recovery and create strong national environment laws to protect nature and end extinction.
This is too important for party politics. Please step up and act so our communities and wildlife have a thriving future.'

With all of the scientific evidence available, how can you still insist on coal and terrible emission targets. The Federal Government is letting all of Australia, it’s Pacific ‘family’ and the world down.

The COVID_19 pandemic has changed your children’s and grandchildren’s world for ever and your government listened to and promptly acted on the advice of the credible and respected Medical and Scientific community.
However compared with climate change, the adverse effects of COVID-19 are a mere blip on the future of your children’s world since climate change threatens life on earth.
Please listen to and promptly act on the credible and respected advice of the Scientific and Medical community to address climate change, your children’s greatest ever threat.
If you do this your government will go down in history for its wisdom and bravery, rather than for greed, stupidity and ignorance.
I strongly vote for investing in renewables and stopping high emissions industries.
The science is already established – please follow the science, not the politics
Use this bushfire recovery period to act on climate change and invest in renewable energy while we still have the opportunity.
Please do not participate in the destruction of this planet. We need action now to attack climate change and protect the wildlife that is left. Forest clearing must stop now and new wildlife sanctuaries created.
Protect the planet now. It is your number one job of every human so that their is a cruelty free future for all.
We need to make drastic changes on every level of our modern society. It will not be easy but if we continue to stick our head in the sand then we will not have a planet to show our kids
